You and Me Foods LLC was formed in 2009, by Susie Heller and Michael Laukert. You and Me Foods LLC has developed Original Glop and is beginning to sell it to retail markets in the San Francisco area. It is also available for purchase online. You and Me Foods LLC will continue to develop specialty products of the highest quality, with a focus on flavor and convenience.
Susie Heller began her cooking career as a caterer, teacher and restaurateur in Cleveland, Ohio. During her time as a caterer in the1980’s she developed “Glop” a name given to the product by her customers who insisted she bring the Glop to parties.
In 1999, Susie moved to Napa Valley where she took a position as VP of Media Development for Michael Chiarello during the formation of NapaStyle. There, she began to work with Michael Laukert with whom she has developed Glop for the retail market through their company You and Me Foods LLC.
Susie Heller continues to work in food media and has been a producer and author of cookbooks (with Thomas Keller, The French Laundry, Bouchon, Under Pressure and Ad Hoc at Home, with Michel Richard, Happy in the Kitchen, with Scharffen Berger Chocolate Maker, The Essence of Chocolate and presently with chef Mourad Lahlou) and a producer of Public Television Cooking shows for over 20 years (including chefs Jacques Pepin, Julia Child, Michael Chiarello and Jose Andres).
In addition to developing her own products Susie also develops products and recipes with Thomas Keller for Williams-Sonoma and All Clad.
Michael Laukert has worked as a chef, researcher and consultant in food industry for 20 years. After graduating from The Culinary Institute of America in 1991, he began his culinary career at Tra Vigne Restaurant. At this internationally renowned, high- volume Trattoria in the Napa Valley, he provided oversight and direction to a kitchen staff of up to 25, while maintaining food quality and attaining financial goals.
In 1996, Michael initiated a specialty food development program for Napa Valley Kitchens and the Consorzio brand, managing all aspects of the business, including production schedules, sourcing raw materials and cost analysis. He served as a consultant for Calio Groves, a California olive oil producer and is a Certified Taste Panel Member of Extra Virgin Olive Oil with the California Olive Oil Council.
He continued to consult for numerous restaurants and food producers in conceiving, producing and marketing specialty food products, including Michael Chiarello's NapaStyle and Consorzio brands, Jacques Pepin's specialty foods, Thomas Keller's – EVO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) brand, Cat Cora's – CCQ restaurant located in Macy’s Home Store-Orange Coast Plaza and Kevin Fortun's – Fortun Finishing Sauces.
In media, Michael has served as the Culinary Director on over 175 episodes of Emmy award winning NapaStyle television series airing on PBS, Fine Living and the Food Network. He developed and authored “Authentic Volpi” – Today’s Delicious Foods made in Harmony with Old World traditions, published in November 2009.
